Social media marketing has gradually become an integrated approach to promote brands and activities of various organization. As more firms gradually migrate towards using digital strategies, to enhance product efficiency and value creation for customers; one tool that is highly employed in their digital marketing approach is social media.
100 companies out of 1,000 were ranked by ON Media for their use of digital media platforms to reach customers. In 10 different economic sectors of Ghana, the top ten selected institutions were examined for their levels of visibility and participation on their official pages across 4 social media platforms. The research evaluated and ranked them based on their engagement and follower count for the months of April, May, and June 2022.
The criteria for the research
Two key criteria were used to evaluate the top ten institutions.
First, ten important industries in Ghana were chosen, whose institutions regularly engage the public with their goods and services.
Also, based on the quantity of followers they had across four social media sites, these 1,000 institutions in these ten industries were evaluated.
The industries were: Media and communications, oil marketing, fast-moving consumer goods, banking, telecommunications, and internet services are among the ten industries that are highlighted. Other industries include insurance, tertiary education, state-owned businesses, hospitality, and pharmaceuticals.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn were the four social media sites that were evaluated, and the analysis took into account materials like texts, still photographs, brochures, videos, and more that were frequently posted or tweeted by the firms on their social media profiles.
Only 40 CEOs were found to be actively present and discussing their brands on social media, according to a survey that also examined the social media presence of 100 brand Chief Executives and/or Managing Directors.
