The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has secured investor leads and expressions of interest following its participation in Invest Fest 2026. This significant outcome occurred during the event held in Atlanta, United States. The leads span critical sectors including real estate, tourism, and other strategic areas of the Ghanaian economy.

These engagements also fostered discussions on potential business partnerships and commercial opportunities. GIPA expects follow-up discussions to further explore these identified prospects. The authority aims to convert these initial interests into concrete investments for Ghana.

This initiative aligns with Ghana's broader strategy to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and stimulate economic growth. The nation consistently seeks to position itself as a prime investment destination in West Africa. Such efforts are crucial for job creation and economic diversification.

Manuela Adu, Head of Protocol at GIPA, led the delegation on behalf of CEO Simon Madjie. She stated the event provided a vital platform to connect prospective investors with opportunities in Ghana. Mrs. Adu emphasized GIPA presented diverse opportunities across agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and digital services. She also highlighted tourism, real estate, mining, infrastructure, and logistics as key areas.

The Government’s 24-Hour Economy policy, aimed at increasing production and private-sector participation, was also a key talking point. Mrs. Adu outlined the Volta Economic Corridor as an area with significant investment potential. This corridor offers prospects in agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, logistics, energy, and tourism. Real estate and tourism specifically attracted numerous enquiries from attendees.

The GIPA delegation also detailed provisions of the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act, 2026 (Act 1173). This new legal framework includes a citizenship-by-investment scheme. This scheme is designed to enhance Ghana’s appeal to high-net-worth investors. GIPA will implement this provision in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior.

Mrs. Adu confirmed GIPA will diligently follow up on all investor leads and expressions of interest. This process involves deepening discussions, providing relevant information, and facilitating connections. GIPA will link investors with appropriate institutions and business partners within Ghana. The delegation included Principal Investment Promotion Officers, Mr. Christopher Sedor and Mrs. Bridget Odei, and Assistant Public Relations Officer, Mr. Raphael Apetorgbor.

Ghana’s participation in Invest Fest 2026 was a collaborative effort. The Ghana Tourism Authority partnered with GIPA for this event. Private-sector partners Adansi Travel and Tours and Sunseekers Travel and Tours also contributed. These partnerships underscore a unified national approach to investment promotion. This collective effort seeks to attract capital into Ghana's strategic sectors.

The new GIPA Act, 2026 (Act 1173), replaces previous legislation, aiming to create a more efficient and investor-friendly environment. It streamlines processes and offers incentives to attract both local and foreign capital. This legislative update is critical for Ghana to remain competitive in the global investment landscape. It signals a clear commitment to improving the ease of doing business.

Ghana's economic stability and democratic governance make it an attractive destination for investors. The country's strategic location and growing consumer market further enhance its appeal. GIPA's proactive engagement at international forums like Invest Fest is vital. Such efforts directly contribute to Ghana's economic development goals. The successful securing of investor leads marks a positive step towards realizing these ambitions.
