Yango Group, a technology company based in the UAE, gathered more than 200 representatives from business, government, and the technology sector for its Innovation Day 2026 in Abidjan.
The event highlighted demonstrations of technologies used across Yango Group’s global markets. Key discussions focused on developing digital services for African cities. A partnership agreement was signed with GUDE-PME, and the first cohort of the Yango Fellowship Programme in Côte d’Ivoire celebrated their graduation.
This initiative aligns with Ghana’s broader push for digital transformation and technological advancement across West Africa. Ghana has consistently invested in digital literacy and infrastructure to foster economic growth. Similar engagements promote the adoption of cutting-edge technologies crucial for regional development. They also highlight the increasing importance of digital skills in the labor market.
Adeniyi Adebayo, Chief Business Officer at Yango Group, stressed the role of technology. He said, “Technology does more than make existing systems more efficient. It can create entirely new opportunities for work, entrepreneurship and business growth.” These collaborations foster innovation and contribute to the long-term development of African cities.
The event demonstrated technologies like AI-powered route optimisation systems and autonomous delivery robots. It showed how digital solutions can improve mobility, logistics, and urban services. These advancements are critical for modernizing cities and boosting economic efficiency across the continent. Such innovations could reduce operational costs and create new business models.
The Yango Fellowship Programme’s first 20 graduates received certificates, laptops, and financial support. This programme aims to develop technological entrepreneurship among young people. It prepares new talent for the growing digital economy in Côte d’Ivoire. Yango Group will also connect these Fellows with internship and early-career opportunities.
Yango Côte d’Ivoire signed a memorandum of understanding with GUDE-PME. GUDE-PME is Côte d’Ivoire’s public agency for SME development. This agreement will support small and medium-sized businesses in mobility and logistics. It focuses on formalizing businesses, improving access to financing, and supporting operational growth. This could lead to job creation and increased adoption of electric vehicles.
Yango Group also announced plans to launch a premium service by Yango Food. This new service aims to enhance the customer experience. It will introduce a unique offering to the local market for the first time. This expansion strengthens Yango Group’s growing ecosystem of digital services across the region.
