Telecel Ghana has distributed over GHS 5.1 million in cash prizes through its ongoing M'ahitti Promo. This four-month campaign has already seen 17 customers win GHS 20,000 each in weekly draws, significantly impacting their lives.

The promotion also awarded GHS 100 each to 2,842 customers in daily draws as of August 26. These cash prizes are deposited directly into winners' Telecel Cash wallets, encouraging digital financial transactions. The initiative aims to reward customer loyalty and drive engagement with Telecel's services.

This large-scale consumer reward campaign highlights the competitive nature of Ghana's telecommunications sector. Mobile network operators frequently launch promotions to attract and retain subscribers. Such campaigns often stimulate mobile money usage and digital payments, aligning with broader financial inclusion goals in Ghana. The National Lottery Authority (NLA) supervises the promotion, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance.

Kennedy Boakye, a 46-year-old cement shop owner from Nkoranza, won GHS 20,000. He initially doubted the call but later confirmed his win. "I plan to invest some of the cash in my business, health and family’s development," Boakye stated, highlighting the direct economic impact on beneficiaries. Abdul-Jalil Dokurugu, a 24-year-old from Tamale, also won GHS 20,000 and plans to expand his family's smock business.

The M'ahitti Promo is set to reward 12,000 customers daily with GHS 100 each. It will also award 48 customers weekly with GHS 20,000 each. Additionally, three grand prize winners will receive GHS 1 million each monthly. This substantial prize pool underscores Telecel's commitment to its customer base and market presence. The promotion is open to all Telecel customers, who can participate by dialling *500#, texting WIN to 500, or using the Telecel Play App. Airtime recharges, bundle purchases, and Telecel Cash deposits of GHS 10 or more earn points. Bonus entries are available for customers using the Telecel Play App and Telecel Cash. This structure encourages increased usage of Telecel's digital platforms and services. The widespread nature of the wins, with beneficiaries from Nkoranza, Tamale, Kumasi, and other regions, demonstrates the national reach of the campaign. Telecel Ghana has also issued warnings, advising customers that winners will never be asked to pay a fee or surrender their Telecel Cash PIN to claim a prize. This measure protects customers from potential fraud. The ongoing promotion is expected to continue driving customer engagement and mobile money adoption across Ghana's diverse economic landscape. The significant cash injections into local economies through these prizes can stimulate small businesses and individual financial growth. This initiative further solidifies Telecel's position in the highly competitive Ghanaian telecom market.
