The Kwadaso Municipal Chief Executive, Eric Asibey, has officially commenced construction of a new 24-hour economy market in Kwadaso. This significant project aims to stimulate continuous economic growth, create new jobs, and enhance local household incomes within the municipality.
The multi-purpose facility will include 250 lockable and open-air shops, alongside a dedicated women’s bank. These features are designed to resolve long-standing logistical challenges for local farmers and traders. The market will also integrate vital auxiliary infrastructure, including a police post, an on-site fire station, a healthcare clinic, an on-site pharmacy, and a daycare centre, ensuring safety, convenience, and community welfare.
This initiative aligns with the central government’s commitment to decentralisation and localised economic development across Ghana. Such projects are crucial for distributing economic opportunities beyond major urban centres, fostering regional growth. The development reflects a broader national strategy to empower local economies and improve living standards in various municipalities.
Mr. Asibey stated that the project is being executed under the technical supervision of Eco Planner and Engineering Consult. He emphasised the importance of adhering strictly to technical specifications and ensuring the highest quality standards. The Municipal Chief Executive expects the project to be delivered on schedule within the next three years.
The completion of this market is anticipated to transform Kwadaso into a major commercial hub, attracting businesses and consumers from surrounding areas.
