Swiss Super League football club FC Basel has donated football kits and training equipment to numerous colts football clubs, women’s teams, and educational institutions across Ghana’s Upper West Region. This marks the second consecutive year the European club has provided such support, following a similar gesture in 2025.
The donation included multiple sets of jerseys, socks, training wear, and tracksuits. These items provide much-needed equipment for young footballers and teams in the region. The initiative aims to bolster grassroots football development and offer young players the necessary resources to train and compete effectively.
This ongoing support from FC Basel integrates into a broader narrative of international engagement with Ghana's regional development. The items were presented by Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, Lead Sports Editor at Joy Sports. Football agent Alex Acquaye facilitated the entire initiative. Acquaye has a close working relationship with the 21-time Swiss champions, enabling this consistent support for Ghanaian football.

Football clubs and teams that received kits included Chiewie Ladies, Soccer Babies Football Club, Kulfuo Dreams FC, Malima FC, Kong Danger Stars, and Hilla Stars. The provision of proper equipment can significantly improve training quality and team morale for these local clubs.
