Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) has marked its 41st anniversary with significant contributions to Ghana's healthcare sector. The church organised a large-scale blood donation drive and donated essential medical equipment. These actions target critical national health needs.
The initiative, themed "Healing Hands, Serving Hearts," saw hundreds of church members and the public participate. The blood donation drive partnered with the National Blood Bank. Organisers aimed to collect over 600 pints of blood. This aims to support emergency, maternity, and surgical care nationwide. Blood shortages are a constant challenge in Ghanaian hospitals.
Rev. Dr Ernest Anim-Opare, Head of VBCI's Medical Team, stressed the importance of blood donation. He stated that blood donation is a vital lifeline for many patients. "The demand for blood never ends," he explained. "Many patients rely on continuous supplies." He added that the body naturally replaces donated blood. Proper medical screening ensures donor safety.
The church also donated three modern incubators to the Paediatric Unit of Achimota Hospital. This support strengthens neonatal care. It will help improve survival chances for premature babies. The hospital's existing incubator is under maintenance. These new incubators will prevent life-threatening complications for newborns.
VBCI also pledged to support the Stroke Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Medical supplies will be presented later this month. Founder and Presiding Bishop, Bishop Nii Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi, highlighted the church's commitment. "For 41 years, God has been faithful," he said. "As we celebrate, we choose to give back in a way that heals and restores." He emphasized that "no act of service is too small when lives are at stake." The church recognises the critical importance of adequate medical supplies for healthcare delivery.
