The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) market capitalisation has climbed to GHS 290.85 billion. This surge follows a sustained positive performance, pushing the benchmark index further into record territory. The market is now just GHS 9.15 billion shy of the GHS 300 billion milestone.
Renewed buying interest in selected equities fueled this growth. The GSE Composite Index rose by 147.81 points, bringing its year-to-date return to an impressive 74.07%. Gains in major stocks like Tullow Oil, MTN Ghana, Ecobank Ghana, GCB Bank, and Republic Bank significantly supported this broader market rally.
This performance underscores the strength of the equity market's 2026 rally. It has been driven by consistent investor appetite for specific large-cap stocks, improved market sentiment, and stronger corporate earnings expectations. This trend indicates growing confidence in Ghana's economic outlook among investors.
