Clydestone Ghana shares rallied by 3.56% on Wednesday, closing at GHS 4.66. This increase matches the technology company's 2026 high. The surge in share price follows Clydestone's announcement of High Court proceedings against MTN Ghana, MTN Group Limited, and MobileMoney Fintech Limited.
The lawsuit centers on the alleged unauthorized use of Clydestone's proprietary intellectual property. This intellectual property is linked to mobile money services. The legal action has drawn significant investor attention to Clydestone.
The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) recorded a total turnover of GHS 121.57 million on July 29, 2026. A large block of MTN Ghana shares dominated this trading activity. MTN Ghana alone accounted for 16,774,652 shares, valued at GHS 118.43 million.
This telecommunications giant represented 91.21% of the total market volume. It also made up 97.42% of the value traded. This concentration meant activity in other listed securities was relatively thin.
MTN Ghana closed unchanged at GHS 7.06. It traded at this price throughout the session. The company ended with an outstanding offer at GHS 7.10 and a closing bid of GHS 7.06.
The high concentration of turnover in MTN Ghana highlights its role. It acts as the principal source of liquidity on the exchange. Less than GHS 3.14 million was traded across all other equities, exchange-traded funds, and Ghana Alternative Market securities combined.
Clydestone Ghana gained GHS 0.16, or 3.56%, from its previous close of GHS 4.50. The company recorded 7,024 shares traded, valued at GHS 33,154.60. This relatively modest turnover suggests the price movement occurred in a thinly traded market. In such markets, limited buying interest can cause a significant percentage change.
Intravenous Infusions recorded the largest percentage gain among actively traded securities. Its shares rose by GHS 0.07, or 8.86%, to GHS 0.86. The stock saw substantial volume, with 631,160 shares worth GHS 542,797.60 changing hands. Its closing price equaled its year high, compared with a 2026 low of GHS 0.05.

It remained the second-largest stock by value traded, generating GHS 1.40 million from 694,149 shares.
Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) also declined by GHS 0.01 to GHS 1.95. It recorded turnover of 77,249 shares valued at GHS 151,102.56. GCB Bank was among the leading securities by value. It saw 10,200 shares change hands at an unchanged GHS 43.20, for a turnover of GHS 440,640.00.
Ecobank Ghana recorded GHS 197,964.00 from 5,076 shares and closed unchanged at GHS 39.00. GOIL generated GHS 64,651.12 from 8,122 shares at GHS 7.96. The session showed selective price gains but extreme turnover concentration. Clydestone's rise reflects increased attention around its legal action. MTN Ghana remains overwhelmingly responsible for market liquidity.
