Ghana's Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, will lead the inaugural BRT Extended session on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. This session will focus on Ghana's economic progress following recent fiscal and macroeconomic reforms.
The event, titled 'After the Corrections: Building Resilient Economic Pillars for the Next Decade,' will take place at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. It aims to identify policies and private-sector actions needed for a stronger economy. The session will gather 250 invited stakeholders for an executive dialogue and panel discussion.
This initiative follows the 12th Ishmael Yamson & Associates Business Roundtable, which convened over 400 policymakers and business leaders. The BRT Extended series aims to deepen discussions on critical national issues. It moves beyond broad conversations to focus on specific, high-impact themes for actionable recommendations. This approach ensures that key economic insights translate into practical strategies for Ghana's future.
Ishmael Yamson Jnr, President and CEO of Ishmael Yamson & Associates, stated the series represents a commitment to moving national conversations beyond conference stages. He emphasized the goal of examining defining issues more closely. Following the Finance Minister's dialogue, a panel discussion will feature Dr. Adrian Alter, IMF Resident Representative to Ghana. Hon. Abena Osei-Asare, a Member of Parliament and former Deputy Minister for Finance, will also participate. Professor Godfred Alufar Bokpin, an Economist and Professor of Finance, completes the panel. This discussion will explore consolidating economic gains and strengthening fiscal resilience. It will also address stimulating private-sector growth and rebuilding investor confidence. The goal is to develop stronger economic pillars against future shocks.
The BRT Extended session is designed as a masterclass-style executive forum. It brings together a smaller group of decision-makers for candid dialogue and practical insights.
