Emirates Airlines will introduce four additional weekly flights between Dubai and Accra from July 12, 2026. This expansion increases Emirates' total weekly operations to Ghana to 11 flights. The airline will utilize its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for these new services.

This increase responds to a sustained rise in air travel demand to and from Accra. The added flights aim to enhance global connectivity for Ghanaian travelers. They also support increased tourism and trade links between Ghana and key international markets.

This expansion aligns with Ghana's broader efforts to improve its aviation sector and attract foreign investment. Enhanced air connectivity is crucial for boosting the tourism industry and facilitating international business. The move comes as Ghana continues to recover economically and seeks to strengthen its position as a West African hub.

Salem Almana, Emirates’ Country Manager for Ghana, affirmed the airline's commitment. He stated, “Beyond providing greater convenience for our customers, this expansion will strengthen business, tourism and trade links between Ghana and key markets across our global network, while contributing to the continued growth of Ghana’s aviation sector.” Almana highlighted the airline has connected Ghana to the world for over two decades.

The new flights, EK789 and EK790, will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flight EK789 departs Dubai at 03:30 local time, arriving in Accra at 07:40 local time. The return flight, EK790, departs Accra at 10:25 local time and arrives in Dubai at 22:40 local time. These timings offer convenient connections to major destinations like Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Mumbai, and New York. This expanded schedule will provide more options for travelers connecting through Dubai from cities like Delhi, Boston, and various locations in Germany and the United Kingdom.

The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft offers eight private suites in First Class and 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class. It also features 304 spacious seats in Economy Class. Passengers can expect regionally inspired meals and up to 6,500 channels of inflight entertainment. This entertainment includes Ghanaian content such as 'Kotoka' and 'Ghana Map'.

Beyond passenger traffic, the additional flights will significantly boost cargo operations through Emirates SkyCargo. Emirates currently transports a substantial volume of fresh-cut fruit from Ghana to European cities like Prague and Zurich. It also carries electronics, textiles, and pharmaceutical products. The increased bellyhold cargo capacity will support trade, stimulate economic activity, and provide Ghanaian businesses faster and more reliable access to global markets. This expanded cargo capability is vital for Ghana's export economy.
