Eighteen people sustained injuries after a passenger bus overturned at Adele-Kpoe on the Tema–Akosombo Highway on Wednesday, August 5. The Mercedes-Benz bus, with registration number AS 427-09, was traveling from northern Ghana to Ashaiman when the incident occurred.
The Ghana National Fire Service reported that a front tyre burst while the bus was in motion. This mechanical failure caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The bus subsequently veered off the highway before overturning, leading to the injuries of its occupants.
