The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has commenced a temporary load management exercise in the Volta and Oti Regions. This measure follows a technical fault on a transformer at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) Asiekpe Bulk Supply Point (BSP). The power outages are necessary to maintain the stability of the electricity transmission system.
The initial phase of the load management exercise occurred from 1800 hours on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to 0600 hours on Monday, August 3, 2026. Affected areas included Ho Technical University, SSNIT Flats, Goshen City, GNTC, and parts of Green Valley. Other communities impacted were Sokode Gbogame, Abutia, Akrofu, and sections of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Main Campus.

Communities such as Kpenoe, Takla, Hodzo, Ho Central Market, and Akoefe will experience outages. Additionally, Alavanyo, Nkonya, Agbenorxoe, and parts of Kpando are included in this phase. Residents in these areas should prepare for temporary disruptions to their power supply.
