Activa International Insurance Ghana has significantly invested in the Weep Not Child Orphanage, funding new restroom facilities and a learning center. This initiative occurred during the company's inaugural 'Activa Social Day' on July 17, 2026, at the orphanage in Nsawam Damang, Eastern Region.

The company also donated essential items, including clothing, bedding, toiletries, detergents, and drinking water. Twenty-four employees from Activa International Insurance Ghana spent the day interacting with the 61 children, who range from 10 months to 18 years old, through various activities like football and musical chairs.

This event is part of a broader commitment by the Activa Group Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Activa Group. The 'Activa Social Day' was observed across all Activa Group subsidiaries in eight countries, demonstrating a unified approach to social impact. This commitment aligns with a growing trend among Ghanaian corporations to integrate social responsibility into their business models, recognizing the importance of community development alongside economic growth.

Mrs. Genevieve Tachie, Deputy Managing Director of Activa International Insurance Ghana, emphasized the significance of their involvement. She stated that the gesture extends beyond mere donations, highlighting the physical presence and shared time with the children as making a real difference. Mrs. Tachie noted that the investment in facility upgrades aims to create a safer and more comfortable environment for the children at the orphanage.

The completion of the restroom facilities will provide four shower and toilet cubicles for the boys' dormitory. The new learning center will offer a dedicated space for children to study, complete homework, and relax. These infrastructure improvements are crucial for the long-term well-being and educational development of the vulnerable children housed at Weep Not Child Orphanage.

The Activa Group Foundation's initiative reflects a strategic approach to corporate social responsibility, focusing on sustainable impact rather than one-off donations. This model is increasingly adopted by leading companies in Ghana, aiming to address pressing social needs directly. Such investments can improve living conditions and educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth, contributing to broader national development goals.

This action by Activa International Insurance Ghana sets a precedent for other companies to follow, encouraging deeper engagement with local communities. The focus on infrastructure and direct interaction provides a tangible benefit that will last for years. This commitment reinforces the idea that businesses have a vital role to play in supporting vulnerable populations and fostering a more inclusive society.
