Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has deepened its commitment to homeownership by expanding the JoyNews Habitat Fair nationwide. This follows a new partnership agreement with Multimedia Group Limited.

The expanded fair will now reach Accra, Kumasi, and Ho. This initiative aims to provide prospective homeowners with greater access to finance, developers, and construction companies. The partnership builds on a successful long-term relationship between Republic Bank and Multimedia Group’s Luv FM in Kumasi.

Ghana faces significant housing challenges, particularly regarding affordability. This expansion directly addresses these issues by bringing financial solutions and expert advice closer to citizens. The initiative aligns with broader national efforts to improve access to housing and reduce the housing deficit. It also highlights the role of financial institutions in supporting economic development through key sectors like real estate.

Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, Managing Director of Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC, stated the partnership reflects the Bank’s commitment to helping Ghanaians achieve homeownership. He emphasized that affordability, household incomes, and borrowing costs are major barriers. Dr. Dzoboku stressed the need for collaboration among government, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to tackle these challenges effectively.

This expanded partnership will make information and financing opportunities available to more Ghanaians. It aims to empower individuals across different regions to pursue their homeownership dreams. Decision-makers and the housing market will closely watch the impact of this initiative on housing accessibility and affordability metrics. The Bank’s long-standing expertise in housing finance positions it as a key player in this sector.

Republic Bank has evolved from a home finance company into a full-service commercial bank. It retains deep expertise in housing finance. The Bank offers various solutions, including financing for home purchase, construction, and improvement. It also provides pension-backed mortgages and home equity financing. The Bank established its Real Estate Investment Fund in 1995 to offer investment opportunities in the sector. Republic Bank has also partnered with the Government under the National Housing Scheme. This scheme supports public sector workers in acquiring homes.

Dr. Dzoboku encouraged prospective homeowners not to abandon their aspirations due to financial constraints. He urged them to engage the Bank to explore suitable solutions. He described the partnership as a long-standing one in Ghana’s housing and real estate ecosystem. It reflects Republic Bank’s commitment to creating meaningful pathways to homeownership. This is achieved through innovative financial solutions, education, and strategic partnerships.

Mr. Fiifi Koomson, General Manager, Joy Brands at Multimedia Group, welcomed the national expansion. He described the partnership as a natural progression of their successful collaboration in Kumasi. Mr. Max Fugar, General Manager, Sales at Multimedia Group, signed the agreement.
