Amantin and Kasei Community Bank PLC reported a profit before tax of GHS 9.33 million in 2025. This figure represents a 6.54 per cent increase from the GHS 8.75 million recorded in the previous year.

The bank's improved profitability stemmed from a significant 22.33 per cent increase in gross income. Gross income rose from GHS 29.82 million in 2024 to GHS 36.48 million in 2025. This strong income growth supported the overall positive financial performance.

This performance highlights the resilience of Ghana's rural banking sector, even as the broader economy navigates various challenges. Rural banks play a crucial role in financial inclusion, providing essential services to communities often underserved by larger commercial banks. Their stability contributes to local economic development and job creation, aligning with national efforts to strengthen grassroots financial institutions.

Mr. Richard Owusu Afriyie, the Board Chairman, presented these results at the bank’s 21st Annual General Meeting. He attributed the success to the collective efforts of management, staff, customers, and the Board. Mr. Afriyie emphasized the bank's commitment to improving profitability and sustaining growth.

The bank's total assets grew by 7.33 per cent, reaching GHS 180.22 million from GHS 167.93 million in 2024. Deposits also increased by seven per cent to GHS 158.46 million. This provided the bank with more resources to support lending activities within its operational areas. Advances, or loans, expanded significantly by 54.2 per cent, rising from GHS 42.99 million in 2024 to GHS 66.29 million in 2025. This substantial increase in lending demonstrates the bank's active role in supporting local businesses and individuals. While investments declined by 14.22 per cent to GHS 65.22 million, stated capital increased by 6.93 per cent to GHS 1.65 million, indicating a stronger capital base. The bank's focus on prudent lending practices and capital protection remains vital for its long-term stability. This balanced approach to growth and risk management is critical for rural financial institutions operating in dynamic economic conditions.

Beyond its financial achievements, Amantin and Kasei Community Bank PLC invested GHS 86,505 in community development projects in 2025. This investment forms part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. The bank commits 10 per cent of its profit after tax to initiatives in its operating communities. Specific projects included GHS 42,505 for the Kasei mechanised borehole project, improving access to clean water. Another GHS 20,000 went towards improving the Chorkosi Line Road, enhancing local accessibility. Education also benefited, with GHS 24,000 spent on the Bresuano Community School Pavilion Project. These interventions underscore the bank's commitment to tangible social and economic benefits for its communities. Ms. Susan Boateng, Sunyani Branch Manager of ARB Apex Bank, commended the bank for its performance. She urged management to maintain discipline in managing growth, emphasizing safe lending and wise investment. Ms. Boateng highlighted ongoing reforms in the community banking sector as an opportunity for strengthening operations. She advised building a stronger, better-capitalized, and technology-driven institution for sustainable service. This guidance is crucial for rural banks navigating regulatory changes and competitive pressures. The bank's continued focus on both financial performance and community impact positions it as a key player in regional development. Its ability to balance profit with social responsibility sets a positive example for other financial institutions in Ghana.
