The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) has postponed the 3rd Ghana International Horticulture Expo (HORTI EXPO) 2026. The event originally scheduled for June 11–13, 2026, will now take place from September 3–5, 2026. This shift in dates aims to secure greater participation and overall success for the expo.
This decision follows extensive discussions with various important groups. These groups include key industry players, government bodies, development partners, and potential international attendees. FAGE moved the dates because several major national events, international business meetings, and global sporting activities would have clashed with the original June schedule. These conflicts threatened to reduce stakeholder involvement, media coverage, and general engagement with the expo.
Ghana's horticulture sector contributes significantly to its agricultural exports. The industry is vital for job creation and earning foreign exchange. Data shows Ghana’s gold output surged in 2025, but the agriculture sector, including horticulture, remains a cornerstone of the economy, driving rural development. Ensuring maximum attendance at events like HORTI EXPO helps promote Ghanaian produce on the international stage. It also attracts investments into the sector, which is critical for Ghana's economic diversification goals.
Davies Narh Korboe, President of FAGE and Chairman of the Ghana Horticulture Expo 2026 Organising Committee, signed the notice about the change. He thanked stakeholders for their continued support. Mr. Korboe expressed optimism about the success of the September edition. FAGE assured the public that the decision was made in the best interest of all participants. It will ensure the overall success of the expo.
The postponement allows a more favourable period for the event, preventing competition for attention and resources. Decision-makers in the horticulture and export sectors will monitor how this new timing impacts international buyer turnout. Increased participation can lead to more trade deals and higher export volumes for Ghanaian products, boosting the national income. Markets will watch for any signs of increased investment or export growth following the event.
The HORTI EXPO will still take place at The Palms Convention Center. This venue is located within the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. FAGE has asked all invited guests and partners to update their schedules. Further details about the event's programme will be released soon. The success of this expo is crucial for showcasing Ghana's horticultural produce. It helps connect local farmers with global markets. Such events reinforce Ghana’s position in the global agricultural trade landscape.
