Complete Farmer has launched its new CF Grower and CF Buyer platforms. These aim to boost agricultural innovation and efficiency in Ghana. The platforms use digital tools to improve how farmers produce and how buyers source agricultural goods.
These new platforms address critical issues within Ghana's agricultural sector. They tackle problems such as limited technical support for farmers and weak access to markets. They also address inconsistent supply and poor visibility across the entire value chain. The CF Grower offers production guidance, while CF Buyer provides a reliable way for businesses to source farm products.
This development fits into Ghana's broader push for food sustainability and growth in agribusiness. Technology like CF Grower and CF Buyer shows how digital tools can support local food production. They improve market connections and create more value in the agricultural ecosystem. Such innovations are vital for Ghana's economic development, especially in a sector employing a significant portion of the population.
Kola Olajide, Chief Technology Officer of Complete Farmer, stated the platforms incorporate artificial intelligence (AI). This allows farmers to check crop health using their mobile phones. He explained, "Now you can use your phone to scan a crop and it can tell you where the deficiencies are." He added that the technology helps smallholder farmers, even in areas with poor internet. Complete Farmer has built a network of field agents and offline features to ensure inclusion.
The CF Grower platform provides services like land mapping, soil analysis, and specific guidance for crops. CF Buyer connects buyers directly with farmers for more dependable sourcing relationships. Weetsa Adinku, Marketing Manager of Complete Farmer, noted that the platforms aim to improve the entire agricultural process. She emphasized, "Every connection we create, every transaction we enable, and every solution we build is designed to make that journey more efficient, transparent and rewarding for everyone involved."
Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director of the Kosmos Innovation Center, praised Complete Farmer's progress. He described it as proof that innovative ideas can become impactful businesses with the right support. He noted that the company started as an idea nine years ago and is now a thriving African business. This highlights the importance of fostering young startups in Ghana's economic landscape.
Farmers gain from more guided and less stressful production management through these platforms. Buyers benefit from sourcing with greater confidence and transparency. For the wider sector, this signals a future where agriculture becomes more connected, efficient, and data-driven. This approach aligns with national goals to modernize agriculture and enhance food security.
